Gowanus Dogs

A gritty tale of loneliness and redemption set against a stark cityscape, Gowanus Dogs tells the story of a homeless man living under the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.  When he rescues a seriously ill animal, it sets in motion a series of events that touch the lives of many in his small community.

This all-ages music-dance-puppetry-theatre piece is inspired by Jonathan Frost's book of the same name, and incorporates images drawn from Frost’s black-and-white paintings of lost souls and urban wasteland.

Conceived and directed by Ari Laura Kreith, with music and lyrics by Simon Gray, libretto by Jenny Lyn Bader, and choreography/puppetry design by Todd Flaherty
